Used Bentley – One Of The Most Prestigious Car Brands Ever

Bentley has been known as one of the best car brands in the world for many a year. The luxury handcrafted models are painstakingly put together by incredibly knowledgeable workmen, who generally know the Bentley inside and out with unfailing accuracy. With sumptuous and almost unsurpassed interior detailing, an elegant and distinguished exterior, and name that comes with a reputation all of its own, this really is one of the most famous and respected motor brands around the globe.
Bentley actually began with W. O. Bentley selling cars. They weren’t even his own cars, although he did dream of creating and selling his own models one day down the line. Whilst these pipe dreams generally never come true, Bentley was one of those rare people who actually followed through, and the Bentley Motors ltd. Company was set up and established in 1919. Of course, cars were an imprecise art back then, and he didn’t actually manage to churn any out completed until much later in 1921!
Once Bentley Motors was properly up and running, the innovations started flowing in. Bentley had the clever and no doubt industry changing idea of using lightweight aluminium metal for pistons instead of the much more cumbersome cast iron predecessor. Essentially, these immediately become expensive and luxury cars for a very specific market of wealthy businessmen, securing at the very least the companies place in the motoring history books.
Of course, life isn’t always plain sailing even for a brand as prestigious as Bentley. In particular, it was the Great Depression that nearly tipped the brand over the edge – as no one wanted to buy expensive cars any more, the market plummeted and Bentley gave in and sold out to rivals Rolls Royce. Of course, if a luxury car brand is going to be owned by anyone, then the best person is probably another brand that understands your mission!
It was after that sell out that we started seeing some of the most iconic Bentley Models. The Continental and Mulsannes were released to rapturous reception, and later on the Turbos and Azures were equally successful. From those early days, Bentleys have become so popular that they can charge almost anything for their cars, securing them as true luxury commodities that seem unaffected by the current financial times.
If you love Bentleys and want a taste of the magic, then you are probably already aware of what models there are currently on the market (Continentals, Azures, Arnages and more), and just what sort of prices you can expect to pay.
If you want some real heritage, however, you have probably brushed up on your classics – and it may be worth considering a used Bentley dealer rather than a new model. Whilst you won’t get to be the first person to experience the delicious leather seats and amazing attention to detail, you will be able to rest assured that other important people have driven this before you. If you do opt for a classic, you will do doubt be able to feel the history in the wood itself.
